MIGUEL HARTH-BEDOYA LAUNCHES DRIVE
TO HELP VICTIMS OF PERU EARTHQUAKE

Fort Worth--Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya has launched a local drive to help victims of the August 15 earthquake in Peru, his native country. The 7.9 magnitude earthquake caused more than 500 deaths and has left tens of thousands of homes destroyed.

In conjunction with the Embassy of Peru in Washington, D.C. and its consulates, Harth-Bedoya and his wife, Maritza Cáceres, are leading the collection in Fort Worth of non-perishable items for babies and children, including diapers, bedding, bottles and feeding supplies, pacifiers, and new or used footwear, winter/summer clothes and toys.

"This is a devastating time for so many Peruvian families," Harth-Bedoya said. "Being parents of young children ourselves, we cannot begin to imagine what the victims of the earthquake are going through without water, food or basic needs. But every little effort counts and although we are far away we want to try to do our part to help."

Donations can be dropped off at the following Fort Worth locations:
