Newly Released Recording: Sentimiento Latino

Sentimiento Latino has been a great and exciting project to do. Not only personally, because I love all songs in Spanish, but because this was a unique project to bring to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Working with Juan Diego, whom I have known for many years, has been a truly inspiring and challenging thing. His artistry is sublime and his command of the voice, unbelievable. The challenging part of this recording was to recreate all the sounds, rhythms and overall styles of every piece while putting our own personal stamp on it. I had no doubt that the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra would step up to the task, even though we have never done a recording quite like this.

We spent one recording session for the ensemble works; a couple of sessions for the string quartet, piano and bandoneon; and three sessions with the full orchestra. These sessions took place at the Landreth Auditorium on the Texas Christian University campus in Fort Worth. Evans Mirageas was the producer and kept us all on a tight leash working closely with Ernesto Palacio from the recording booth.

Overall this was an amazing and unique experience, which has enhanced our musical lives, with the result being a great product for you to enjoy forever!
